Customer service outsourcing is one of the few fields where a secondary school certificate and strong English, or a second European language, can lead to a formal job serving customers in another country. The Philippine industry body IBPAP counted roughly 1.9 million IT and business process workers at the end of 2025, according to SunStar’s report on IBPAP figures. South Africa’s sector added 26,346 jobs serving international clients in 2025, its best year since 2018, and young people took about 90 percent of them. The work clusters in a handful of hubs: Manila and Cebu, Indian cities from Hyderabad to Gurgaon, Johannesburg and Cape Town, Bogotá and Medellín, Cairo, and multilingual centers in Lisbon, Athens and Tallinn.
Three things set the field apart. Language is the main lever on pay: in Egypt, for example, advertised pay for French-speaking agents on outsourcing accounts runs two to three times that of Arabic-only agents on domestic lines. Shifts follow the client’s time zone, which means night work in Manila or Hyderabad for North American accounts. And automation is cutting entry-level volume: the US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 5 percent fall in customer service jobs between 2025 and 2035 because self-service and automated systems are taking over simple contacts, while Philippine headcount growth has slowed faster than revenue growth.
This guide covers the boards and employers that matter in the main hubs, where agents compare notes, and what the work pays, with each figure labeled by source. Sites were checked on 7 November 2026. Individual vacancies are on our separate customer service and BPO open positions page, checked monthly.
Job boards by hub
Most BPO hiring runs through national job boards, the employers’ own careers sites and walk-in recruitment days, rather than international platforms. The boards below are the ones where outsourcing firms and in-house service teams post in volume. A recurring pattern: many ads, especially in Europe, come from recruitment agencies acting for an unnamed client, and the client’s name often appears only at interview.
PNet (South Africa)
PNet listed 1,968 call center jobs on 7 November 2026, from collections agents in Sandton to sales consultants in Durban and East London. Large outsourcers such as Nutun post directly, alongside agencies including Manpower SA. Our guide to job sites in Africa covers other South African and regional boards. Most ads on the first page did not state pay; the few that did ranged from R5,000 to R10,000 a month basic for sales and telesales roles. Search the PNet call center category and filter by city, since Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg run separate recruitment pipelines.
MyJobMag (Kenya and Nigeria)
MyJobMag’s customer care categories in Kenya and Nigeria are dominated by fintech, banking and hospitality employers rather than global outsourcers. On 7 November 2026 the Kenyan category listed a call center manager at a microlender, a voice support agent at the outsourcer Influx and several team lead roles at a device-finance company. Ads usually give a posting date and a deadline, and each carries a warning never to pay for certificates or assessments. Browse the Kenyan customer care listings or the equivalent Nigerian section.
elempleo.com (Colombia)
elempleo describes itself as Colombia’s largest job search site and claims more than 31,000 offers a month. Bilingual agent ads for Bogotá and Medellín are plentiful, posted by outsourcers such as Konecta, temporary staffing agencies and in-house teams at insurers and banks. Most list a salary band in the header, typically COP 2 million to 3.5 million a month for English- or Portuguese-speaking agents in late 2026. Search bilingual call center ads on elempleo, and check the required language: some “bilingual” ads want Portuguese, not English.
Wuzzuf (Egypt)
Wuzzuf is the main Egyptian board for call center roles, and its pages could not be opened for this check. Its careers blog publishes a salary guide drawn from what employers advertise, which is useful for judging an offer. That guide puts Arabic-only domestic agents at EGP 7,000 to 10,000 a month and French-speaking agents on outsourcing accounts at EGP 20,000 to 27,000 or more. The full breakdown is in Wuzzuf’s call center salary guide.
Europe Language Jobs (multilingual hubs)
Europe Language Jobs collects roles that need a specific European language, and its city pages show where outsourcers recruit native speakers from abroad. On 7 November 2026 its Lisbon page listed Dutch, Danish, Polish, Estonian, Hebrew and Icelandic roles, many with relocation packages, and its Athens page showed Teleperformance, Sitel and TTEC hiring for brands such as Booking.com and Dyson. Most ads come from recruitment agencies and few show a posting date, so confirm the job is still open before relocating. Start from the Lisbon jobs page.
CV.ee and Jobs.cz (Baltic and Czech hubs)
Tallinn and Czech cities host smaller multilingual centers that recruit Nordic and Western European speakers. A search for customer support on CV.ee returned 131 results on 7 November 2026, including Danish-speaking roles at Majorel and Transcom, and most Estonian ads show an expiry date and often a salary. On Jobs.cz, Czech employers advertise in-house customer service roles needing English plus German or French, with monthly pay usually between CZK 38,000 and 60,000. Our Central and Eastern Europe directory sets out work-rights rules for each country. The Majorel ad, for example, asks for a valid permit to work in Estonia, which EU citizens already have. Start with a customer support search on CV.ee.
Make it in Germany (in-house service roles)
Germany’s federal portal for foreign workers returned 217 results for “customer service” on 7 November 2026, mostly in-house advisor and service-technician roles rather than outsourcing seats. Tesla, for example, was advertising service advisor posts in Frankfurt, Giessen and Erfurt. These jobs generally require fluent German, so they suit German speakers moving within the EU more than English-only applicants. Search the Make it in Germany job listings.
Philippines and India: JobStreet, PhilJobNet and Naukri
The two largest BPO labor markets are also the hardest to check from outside. JobStreet, the leading Philippine board, and PhilJobNet, the labor department’s matching portal, could not be opened for this review, and Naukri in India blocks automated access. In practice, applicants in both countries apply on the employers’ own careers sites, listed in the next section, or attend walk-in recruitment days advertised on them. Pay and shift details are more reliable there than on reposted ads.
Employers that hire directly
Large outsourcers run their own careers portals and recruit continuously, often under generic requisitions that stay open for months. That makes the posting date less meaningful than with other fields: a “Customer Service Associate” ad may be a rolling intake, not a single vacancy.
Concentrix
Concentrix reported about 455,000 staff at the end of its 2025 fiscal year, with roughly 240,000 in the Asia-Pacific region, and operations in 74 countries. Its 2025 annual report says about 89 percent of revenue comes from outside the US, with a large presence in the Philippines and India. In Colombia it posts on the Computrabajo platform; one Bogotá ad on 7 November 2026 offered COP 2,850,000 a month base for English-speaking agents at B2 level, and accepted foreign applicants holding a valid Colombian visa.
TP (formerly Teleperformance)
The Paris-based group reported 2025 revenue of €10.2 billion and says its teams work in close to 100 countries. Its 2025 results release credits growth in the Americas to client demand for offshore delivery, with India revenue accelerating through the year, and notes spending on new offshore sites. For job seekers, that points to more hiring in India, the Philippines and Latin America and less in onshore centers. In Europe, TP recruits native speakers for multilingual hubs such as Athens.
TaskUs
TaskUs began in Bacoor, in the Philippine province of Cavite, and now lists more than 64,000 employees across 32 sites in 14 countries, from Colombia and Egypt to Greece, India and Malaysia. Its company page lists trust and safety, financial crime compliance and AI data work alongside customer experience. Those newer lines, such as content moderation and AI evaluation, recruit from the same entry pool as customer support but involve different stresses and training.
Foundever
Foundever, formerly Sitel Group, posts entry-level Customer Service Associate intakes for Manila, Cebu, Baguio and other Philippine sites, and voice roles in Hyderabad and Mumbai. Its India ads describe rotational shifts that include US hours, home pickup and drop transport, and a five-round interview that includes a voice and accent test. Its careers site also lists dozens of Lisbon and Porto roles for Czech, Danish, German and Spanish speakers.
Nutun
Nutun is a South African-headquartered outsourcer working in customer experience and the full credit cycle, from customer acquisition to debt collection. Its ads on PNet in early November 2026 were for collections agents and team managers in Sandton, asking for matric (Grade 12) and two to three years in target-driven collections. Collections work is a large share of South African contact center hiring, and it tends to pay commission on top of a modest basic salary.
Entry routes and training
South Africa has the most organized entry pipeline. Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator, the sector body BPESA’s partner on youth hiring, runs the SA Youth network and reports supporting 4.7 million work-seekers and connecting 1.7 million to earning opportunities. Its site lists more than 3,500 employer partners. BPESA says about 30 percent of the sector’s 2025 hires came from households where no one had a job or the family relied entirely on social grants.
Elsewhere, the employer’s own training class is the usual entry route. Outsourcers in the Philippines, India and Colombia regularly advertise intakes that accept candidates without call center experience, and paid training of several weeks precedes work on a live account. Language tests come first: Indian and Philippine employers test voice and accent, and European hubs test the required language, often at C1 or C2.
Where agents compare notes
The largest open forum is the Philippine subreddit r/BPOinPH, which had about 198,000 members in July 2026 according to the Reddit analytics site GummySearch. Posts mix job openings, company reviews and pay comparisons, often in Tagalog and English. Treat recruitment posts there with caution, because some ask applicants to send personal details to private email addresses.
For pay at a specific employer, salary pages on Glassdoor, Indeed, AmbitionBox in India and PayScale collect self-reported or posting-derived figures. They are useful for spotting outliers but often rest on small or old samples. PayScale’s page for Concentrix advisors in India, for example, draws on 31 profiles and says it was last updated in 2023.
What the work pays
Pay varies most by language and account type, then by city. The figures below are monthly gross unless noted, in local currency, and labeled by who produced them; none is converted. Official statistics for this occupation are scarce outside the US, so most rows are estimates or job-ad figures.
| Country | Role | Pay | Source and type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Philippines | Call operator | ₱17,952 to ₱51,110 a month (middle 80 percent) | Paylab salary survey; estimate, fewer than 20 verified respondents |
| India | Customer service advisor, Concentrix | ₹139,000 to ₹424,000 a year (10th to 90th percentile) | PayScale; estimate, 31 profiles, last updated 2023 |
| South Africa | Entry-level agent; experienced agent; team leader | R6,500 to R8,500; R8,500 to R12,000; R15,000 to R20,000 basic | ShiftMate placement data; recruiter estimate, 2026 |
| Egypt | Agent, Arabic only; English B2 or above; French on outsourcing accounts | EGP 7,000 to 10,000; 13,000 to 18,000; 20,000 to 27,000 or more | Wuzzuf, from advertised pay; publisher estimate, 2026 |
| Colombia | Bilingual agent (Portuguese); bilingual special accounts agent (English) | COP 2,995,000 base plus 350,000 variable; COP 3,278,666 plus bonus | Two job ads, Konecta and AXA Partners, October 2026 |
| Estonia | Danish-speaking customer expert | Up to €2,200 | Majorel job ad, November 2026 |
| Czech Republic | Customer service specialist, English plus French or German | CZK 42,000 to 45,000 | DGFC job ad, November 2026 |
| United States | Customer service representative | $44,770 a year median ($21.53 an hour) | Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2025; official |
Two cautions apply. Outsourcing pay in the Philippines and India often adds night differentials, transport and performance incentives that salary sites do not capture. And the European ads that advertise relocation packages usually pay a modest base salary plus a separate language bonus, so compare the base figure, which is what counts for contracts and benefits.
Where the numbers point
The industry is still adding jobs, but more slowly than its revenue. IBPAP’s 2026 forecast pairs 5.3 percent revenue growth with 3.6 percent employment growth, and the association has cut its 2028 workforce estimate to between 1.85 million and 2.14 million, Nearshore Americas reports, down from a 2.5 million target. The low end of that range is below the 1.90 million employed in 2025.
South Africa’s BPESA, meanwhile, is working toward 350,000 to 500,000 cumulative jobs by 2030. The next IBPAP headcount, if it follows this year’s early-January release, will show which of those two paths the largest hub is on.
